Made to fit your landing
Most off-the-shelf gates only go straight across. Our modular system adds sections at any angle, so the gate follows your landing, balustrade and walls.
Stair-top gates in the shape your space needs
Straight gates
For wide or awkward openings at the top of the stairs where a standard gate won't span.
Corner & multi-angle gates
Extra modules at different angles for landings with several sides, voids or balustrade returns.
L-shaped & 90-degree gates
A right-angle gate that wraps around the top of an open staircase or turns a corner on the landing.
Stair-top examples
Gates we've made for the top of stairs
Every gate is made to measure. These examples show the sizes and module counts we've built before.
Getting the top of the stairs right
The top of the stairs needs the most care
A gate with a base rail should sit at least 40cm from the top of the stairs, so a caught heel doesn't send someone toward the drop.
Set the gate back from the top step
A poorly positioned gate can create a bigger danger than it solves. These are the rules we follow on every stair-top install:
Never pressure-mount on glass
Constant pressure stresses a glass balustrade, and an impact could shatter it. We use custom fixings instead.
Don't pressure-mount on an unsupported newel post
Posts can deflect under constant pressure and, in the worst case, need major structural repair.
Use a manual latch, not self-closing
Self-closing springs need frequent tuning and wear with daily use. Manual operation is the only failsafe way to know the gate is latched.

Every gate comes in two heights: 71 cm and 104 cm. The taller 104 cm gate suits older toddlers who have started climbing, and pets that can jump. Both heights come in white or black.
-
We recommend a manual gate. Self-closing mechanisms wear with daily use, and manual latching is the only failsafe way to know the gate is shut.
